After close to seven sold years of working for the Royal Media, as one of the most highly paid and respected news anchors in Kenya, the beautiful and versatile Janet Mbugua has finally left Citizen TV.
Announcing the news last night, on her final show, Janet expressed gratitude to her loyal viewers, her bosses, Wachira Waruru and Farida Karoney and her colleagues.
And while at it, she also introduced her replacement Anne Kiguta and celebrated with cake alongside Hussein Mohammed and sports reporter Waihiga Mwaura among others.
Backstage, the mother of one did a celebratory gig alongside some of her colleagues as she also shared selfies with messages of gratitude to her followers and fans online.
Janet joined Citizen TV after RMS spent top dollar to poach her from South Africa’s eTV in 2011.
She leaves the station for a new challenge at Red Cross where she will assume the role of communications and advocacy director at the Red Cross Kenya office based in South C, Nairobi.
